Every five to seven years, Skogforsk – the Swedish forestry research institute – carries out its comprehensive Timber Value Test – the forest industry’s most established and independent assessment of how well harvesters preserve timber value. In the 2025 test, several leading machine manufacturers took part, including Komatsu Forest with a brand new 951 equipped with the C144 harvesting head.

Santtu Tanskanen assumed the position of CEO of Komatsu Forest Oy on March 16, 2026. He succeeds Gustav Edholm, who has served as acting CEO of KF Oy since May 9, 2025. Gustav will continue in his primary role as Head of Customer Service Business for the Komatsu Forest Group.

Komatsu Ltd (hereafter “Komatsu”) (President and CEO: Takuya Imayoshi) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Komatsu Forest AB (CEO: Jens Bengtsson), has entered into an agreement to acquire the forest machine manufacturer Malwa Forest AB (Hyssna, Sweden; President & General Manager: Hans Lindberg), a forestry equipment manufacturer of the small segment.
