Ideal for combined assignments

Our versatile machines are flexible all-rounders suitable for anyone who works with both late thinning and lighter final logging.

The agile yet robust design and 230H crane make this harvester incredibly strong even at long reaches. This particular crane is also suitable for heads with multi-tree handling.

The 26.5" wheels pass obstacles in the terrain extremely easily while also being ideal for snowy ground.

Working hydraulics you can depend on

3PS is our innovative hydraulic system that ensures you have the capacity to perform several operations at once – with maximum hydraulic power. For example, you can slew the crane, feed a log and manoeuvre the machine at the same time. If, instead, you are performing tasks that require less power, only parts of the system are used, meaning lower energy losses and thereby lower fuel consumption. An innovation that is good for your wallet, quite simply!

While 3PS is available on all our harvesters, it is particularly useful for final logging as you can perform several operations at the same time.

Low ground pressure and high stability

The XC machines are specially developed for logging in hilly terrain and on soft ground. Thanks to the 8-wheel design, our machines have a lower ground pressure, which makes them more gentle on the ground.

A factor that's also important when operating in demanding conditions is stability. Thanks to the Komatsu-concept, our harvesters have a design that contributes to making them among the most stable harvesters on the market. The XC machines take this one step further, with a double oscillating bogie on the rear frame, which makes sure the machine follows irregularities in the terrain in a smooth and forgiving manner while delivering excellent manoeuvrability in challenging terrain conditions.

Our broad offering encompasses heads specially designed for particular types of forest and suitable for everything from initial thinning to final logging of the largest trees.

Smart Forestry Precision

Smart Forestry Precision uses the latest technology in satellite positioning to determine the machine’s position with an error margin of just a few centimetres. This paves the way for productive and smart work methods where the operator is provided with key information and support to enable informed decisions.

There are several useful functions within Precision, like the ability to create exact, digital fences to mark the borders of a work area or around protected areas. It's also easier to classify stems based on environmental considerations with the stem code visualisation tool.

Work productively, even in steep terrain

When harvesting and forwarding in steep terrain, a winch is a good complement for being able to get the job done efficiently. The Komatsu Traction Aid Winch is a high-quality system based on more than 20 years’ experience of winch use in the alpine regions of Europe. It's available as an option on the Komatsu 875 and the Komatsu 931XC for select markets.

The Komatsu Traction Aid Winch has a smart design that helps to simplify your working day, and thanks to its compact dimensions, it affects neither manoeuvrability nor visibility. The design is based on the well-proven capstan principle, which offers advantages such as even traction and less strain and wear on the cable.

The system has now been supplemented with anchor point monitoring to fulfil the new ISO standard for auxiliary winches on forestry machines.
